Terms of Use
Last updated: October 2, 2026
These terms govern your use of Compagnie, operated by [company name]. By creating an account, you accept them.
The service
Compagnie lets you create conversational companions powered by artificial intelligence, and talk with them in the app, through voice messages, by text message and over the phone. The service is currently inbeta: it is free, may change, may experience interruptions, and has usage limits (for example 30 minutes of calls per day and 15 minutes per call).
A companion is an artificial intelligence
Your companion is not a person. Its replies are generated automatically and may be inaccurate. It does not replace a professional: it does not provide any medical, psychological, legal or financial advice. If you are in distress, contact 988 (Canada), 811 (Québec) or emergency services (911).
Who can use it
You must be 18 years of age or older. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for the accuracy of the phone number you link.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- create a companion depicting a minor, or request any content sexualizing minors;
- use the service to harass, threaten, defraud or harm others;
- create a companion impersonating a real person without their consent;
- circumvent usage limits or safety measures, or automate access to the service.
Messages are automatically analyzed for safety. We may suspend an account that does not follow these rules.
Your content
You remain the owner of what you write and of the images you upload. You authorize us to process them solely to provide the service, as described in our privacy policy.
Texts and calls
By linking your number, you agree to receive text messages from your companion in reply to your messages, as well as verification codes. Reply STOP to stop. Your carrier's charges remain your responsibility.
Liability
The service is provided “as is” during the beta. To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited[to be specified]. Nothing in these terms limits the rights granted to you by Québec's Consumer Protection Act.
Ending your use
You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time from “My account”, or by writing tobonjour@compagnie.com.
Changes and governing law
We will inform you of any significant change to these terms. They are governed by the laws of Québec and Canada[to be validated].
